We cannot begin to face the struggles of our lives until we are first perfectly content to be a beginner. There is a need for us to experience healing from the standpoint of someone who knows little about how to overcome his struggles. We must have a desperate need to learn and grow as children learn and grow. This is the quality Christ says we must have for us to receive the Kingdom of Heaven.
Our problem is that we do not want to be beginners. Most of us would rather have been in recovery for a while, been saved for years, or had shared lots of wisdom with others. We see being a beginner as something beneath us. We would much rather be on a higher rung on the ladder than someone starting at the beginning.
Until we are convinced of the fact that we will never be anything else but beginners, we cannot move forward in our journey with Christ. Each day is a new beginning. We experience Christ from the simplicity of a child, not that of someone who has all the answers. Our faith matures as we come to Christ with the trust and faith of a child.
