Each day we need to pause and take a breath. Even when nothing is going on, we need to stop and remember to breathe. When we stop and take time to breathe, our stress levels go down and we are better able to think and handle all the things that are going on around us. God has given us this amazing tool that we can use to take a step back in any situation and just breathe.
When we slow down and take a few deep breaths, oxygen gets to our brain and we can think more clearly. The act of slowing down reduces stress, which in turn causes us to come up with alternative solutions to what’s happening at that moment. God is in the moments of our breathing. God first breathed life into us and now we have to slow down and give Him His breath back. We totally surrender that moment to Him.
Our breath no longer belongs to us. We are breathing with the breath of God. When we slow down and allow God into each moment, we realize our powerlessness and His strength. We breathe because He first breathed into us. Now it’s time to surrender our breathing back to God and in doing so we are better able to face every struggle in front of us.
