Came To Believe

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:34

Step Two: We came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

We Came. We attend our recover group regularly.
We Came To. We woke up. Coming to recovery begins the process of becoming awake and aware.
We Came To Believe. After waking up from a state of unconsciousness, we know that Christ is our Lord.

In order to get to the place where we totally surrender everything to Christ, we must first wake up. Recovery is the process of becoming awake, aware, and alive. Waking up is not easy when we’ve spent most of our lives in a latent state. We walked with the living, but we were not really living.

Christ calls us to come to Him. Christ calls us to wake up to a new life. Christ calls us to believe in Him. Waking up, becoming aware, is not always pleasant. Awareness brings sorrow as well as joy. As we experience a life awakened, we understand that a moment spent in reality is better than a lifetime spent in delusion.

Today’s Prayer

Jesus, we have come to believe and to know that You are the Holy One of God. There is nowhere else for us to go. We have awakened to the fact that You are Lord. And know you, changes everything. Thank You for saving us and giving us a life full of purpose and meaning. Amen.
