When we grow and mature in our recovery walk with Christ, we are going to be challenged. The enemy doesn’t like people being taken away from him. Now that we have a purpose and a plan for our lives, we are a huge target. Being a Christian does not disqualify us from facing huge challenges in life. We are going to have hardships and challenges in doing the Lord’s work and helping to grow the Kingdom of Heaven.
We’re also going to be challenged by this world. People are not going to like that their loved ones, friends, and relatives are getting well and leaving them behind. There is a hive mentality that permeates this world. When someone breaks free of the hive mentality, ripples run through the hive. The hive will then use every means possible to stop the process of a person experiencing a life rich in Christ. They will try ridicule, discouragement, abandonment, lies, and manipulation to get the person to not move forward on their new journey with Christ.
Being on the road to recovery with Christ is not going to be easy. We are going to be challenged. We will face disappointment and discouragement. There will be times when we wonder why we left the comfort of our old lives for the challenges of this new one. But we know that we can’t go back to the hive mentality. We face whatever challenges the enemy and this world throw at us and we overcome all of them. With Christ, we have victory over every battle and we know that Christ has already won the war.
