When we are committed to a life of recovery in Christ, we are committed to a life of growth. And, to be committed to a life of growth, we must be willing to see when we are wrong. It’s impossible for each of us to know everything about everything. We must surround ourselves with those who are wiser and more capable than us so that we can grow in knowledge and experience.
Growth requires us to step outside our comfort zones and take healthy risks. Most of us have always sought comfort over spiritual maturity. This world tells us to go with our feelings. It says, if something doesn’t feel good, we should not do it. The enemy is attempting to make us ineffective by drawing us into a false comfort. As Believers, the Holy Spirit has a way of making the enemy’s comfort unbearable.
Our spiritual growth demands for us to rest in Christ as we journey outside the bounds of our comfort. In recovery, we understand that Christ is always in control, even when we follow Him outside our comfort zones.
