Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. John 14:12-14

We were created in God’s image. Not just in appearance, but also in His attributes. One of the attributes that God placed in us is that of a creator. There is an inner desire to create and be creative. We are creative creatures created in the Creator’s image. None of God’s other creations can see what is not and make it what is.

In recovery, we see what has not happened yet. We see those who have no relationship with Christ and struggle to get through life on their own power, become new creations. We see God not just changing us from what we were into something different but into something that did not exist before. We are new creations created to be co-creators with Christ. As new creators, we are free to start and grow recovery groups where there were no recovery groups. We help to create a place that is safe and welcoming for others who will soon become co-creators.

Only God can create something from nothing. We see it happening every day in our lives and the lives of those who are walking through the doors of recovery for the first time. When a person comes into the rooms of recovery, they have the opportunity to choose life and become co-creators. We are all creating a community based on the Word of God and the power of healing that comes only from Christ. Everyone is invited to join in and be creative creators.
