Trust in the LORD with all your heart and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path. Proverbs 3:5-6

We’re all going on a great adventure. We’ll be traveling in unknown lands, so we’ll have to travel light. We can’t take any baggage from our past. At times, the path is going to be rough, with lots of climbing steep hills and traveling over rocky terrain. There will be times we will think we can’t take another step. Other times, we will marvel at the distance we’ve come.

On this adventure, we are not alone. Christ is always there with us. Showing us new and different things about ourselves. He will be there as a guide and protector. Any snakes that cross our paths, He will trample on for us. Any wild bears run at the sight of Him coming. Even at night, Christ is there with us. He shines brightly in the vast darkness. Our adventures are not easy ones, but we know we are heading in the right direction with Christ.

We also get to experience this adventure with lots of wonderful friends. Some will be there to encourage us, while others will hold us accountable. Everyone on this quest will share in both the positive and negative experiences, whether it’s the easy-to-travel valleys or the mountains traversed through fatigue and fear of failure. We will all be on this mighty crusade called recovery together. It’s not going to be smooth sailing all the time, but it’s always going to be an adventure.

Today’s Prayer

Father God, thank You for this great adventure You have given me. I know You will never be too far away. You will light the darkest of nights and be my strength in the steepest of climbs. Thank You also for the times of gentle terrain. You are my guide in this foreign land. Amen.

Devotional – Love Is Sacrifice

Devotional – Made For Growth

From Him, the whole body joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. Ephesians 4:16 The best indication of life is growth. If an organism is not growing, it’s probably dying. So how do we, who...

Devotional – As We Are

God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. Romans 5:8 God cannot love us any less than He does right at this very moment. Equally, God cannot love us any more than He does right now. He doesn’t care how good we look,...

A Great Pretense of Seeing

Jesus then said, "I came into the world to bring everything into the clear light of day, making all the distinctions clear, so that those who have never seen will see, and those who have made a great pretense of seeing will be exposed as blind."  John 9:39 In...
