We have a place that allows us to be free. We are free to dance, sing, and play children’s games. We can run and laugh with joy. None of life’s burdens are allowed to enter this place. We can relax and know that all is well because we are in some gardens of hope and jubilation.
These gardens represent our Christian recovery groups. When we first enter these gardens, we’ve forgotten how to play. Some of us never knew how to play. We see others who have dropped their heavy baggage and are now running free. Like children, they play without the bondage of wearing masks, without wondering what others are thinking about them. We are a free people who are free to love with abandon.
This is our garden and what grows here is miraculous. We learn how to plant the seeds of love, hope, and freedom. Christ, then sparks life into all the seeds we have planted. Streams of living water nourish our gardens, and the outcroppings grow and spread. Our garden is recovery. We tend to our gardens, and they bring forth much fruit. Our gardens are oases of love in deserts of brokenness.
