God Breathed

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Scripture is God-breathed. Because we, as individuals, are the only Bible some may ever see, then we are also God-breathed. There are only two things God has breathed life into; humanity and Scripture. Each time we read Scripture, God is breathing into us.

Before we came into recovery and gave our lives and wills to Christ, we only breathed physically. Our bodies were alive but we had not yet received the life-giving breath that only comes from God. Spiritually, we were not yet alive. God breathed life into our souls through Scripture and now we breathe with the breath God gave us.

God breathed life into us and His breath has given us purpose and meaning. We are filled with God’s living breath in order to accomplish His mission on Earth. We are sustained by God’s living breath and are moved to love those who have never experienced the breath of God in Scripture. God gave us His breath, in the form of the Bible, in order to please Him and to serve others.

God Breathed

Heavenly Father, thank You for breathing life into my soul and into scripture. Your word is life breath to me. It’s as important to me as the air I breathe. May I always be Your breath to a world that is struggling to breathe. Amen.
