We serve an awesome God. Our God is the God of second chances. Actually, He’s the God of third, fourth, fifth, one-hundredth chances. God uses the broken…exclusively. God sees what lies beneath our brokenness and uses that same brokenness for His glory. No matter how far down we have fallen, God lifts us up out of the pit of despair and places us on solid ground. God then uses our testimony to bring light into that pit. His light shines brightly out of that once dark pit and we, as well as the pit, are changed forever.
God is the master restorer. He takes broken people and makes them new. The process of restoration is messy and often painful. Like furniture in need of repair, God sands us down and smooths out our jagged edges. He never misses a spot that needs repair. We are transformed from the inside out by His masterful hands.
We are God’s work in progress. Slowly and diligently God is restoring us. Not to something we once were but to something new. We are being restored to what He originally intended for us. Our God sees what the world has discarded and considers useless. God uses the broken because that’s all there is. We were never useless in God’s eyes. God always sees us for what we are, His masterpieces.
