In Secret Places

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

Recovery is the process of discovering what blocks us from having a close relationship with Christ. Little by little we come to an understanding that there can be no more secret places. Slowly we realize we have to let go of what is hidden. We have to give up all our secret places to Christ. No more hiding our light under a basket. To be fully engaged in a relationship with Christ, is to be light.

Christ is shining a light into dark and secret places. In recovery, we find out about darkness and light. We soon realize things that grow in the dark, die in the light. All things that were hidden are now exposed to Christ’s healing light. A new life is coming forth from the light. And, in this new life, there is no more darkness.

Written by James Miller

Heavenly Father, shine Your light into dark places. Bing to light all the things that have been hidden. No more secrets. Everything is now exposed to Your light and love. Thank you for shining Your light in the secret places. Amen.
