We are people of action. We are no longer spectators, watching life happen around us. When we hear God through His Word and don’t act on the things He is telling us, we forget who we are. We should not only read and hear the Word of God, we should act on it.
God has given us life and a purpose for that life. We were at one time lifeless and our lives had no meaning. Now there is a purpose and resolve in our lives. Now, we are in a ministry that is unlike any other. Christ-centered recovery takes people from the brink of death, saves marriages, restores relationships, saves careers, and helps people find hope where there was none. There are no other ministries as vital as our recovery ministries. Because of this, we are offered a huge opportunity to experience miracles that occur almost daily.
In recovery, it’s important for us to listen to what God is saying and then act on it. God is preparing us for even greater things. We are on the front lines of a huge battle for souls and lives. We have to be intentional and act with purpose. Our recoveries depend upon us listening and acting. Those who are coming into recovery for the first time need to see what living life with purpose and meaning looks like. We hear what God is saying through His Word and then we respond to His Word with action. We listen, act, and remember that we are doers of the Word who live our lives with Christ’s purpose and meaning.
