Living in God’s will can be difficult if we don’t understand the character of God. The best way to understand God is by reading His Word. Taking time each day to read and meditate on Scripture helps to know God and His desires for our lives. When we read Scripture, and when we spend time with God each day, God’s will for our lives becomes clear to us.
God’s relationship with each of us is unique and personal. His will for one person might be to raise a family, being an example of Christ to their spouse and children. With someone else, it might be that they minister to the poor and marginalized. And for others of us, God’s will is to reach those who are struggling with experiences of great pain, letting them know they are loved, and there is hope.
God is never going to be inconsistent with His will. He’s not going to lead us to a place and then change His mind. God is always at work in our lives to grow, develop, and mature us. We will never have to guess what His will is for us if we are intentional in our relationships with Him. Our job is to surrender our wills to God daily. God then shows us His will and provides us with everything we need to accomplish His will.
