Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. James 1:2-4

How do we know when we are in the middle of God’s Will? We know because being in God’s Will is going to cause us to be a target of the enemy. When we are living safe, quiet lives, the enemy has no reason to attack us because we’re doing exactly what he wants us to do. Nothing.

To be in God’s Will means that we are outside of our own wills and desires. We naturally have a desire to be comfortable and complacent. This doesn’t mean that God want’s us to be constantly doing things and uncomfortable. God wants us to be at peace and to rest. However, being in God’s Will requires a level of courage because we are going to face obstacles and resistance that will cause us discomfort.

We might think to ourselves what we’re doing for God’s Kingdom is too difficult. We also might think that if God wanted it done it should be really easy. Most of the time, it doesn’t work that way. Sometimes, when things are really difficult, and we’re facing all kinds of obstacles, it might mean what is about to happen is going to be amazing. We pray through all the obstacles the enemy places in front of us and we keep moving forward. The harder the journey, the greater the reward in the end. God has already seen the victory because of our courage and willingness to follow His Will.

Today’s Prayer

Father God, I know there are going to obstacles when I am doing your will. The enemy does not like it when Your will is done and he will try anything to get me to not complete Your will. Help me to see obstacles as a sign that I am in Your will and not something to get frustrated with. I will rejoice in every obstacle knowing that I am in Your will. Amen.
