Something happens to us when we know, without a doubt, that we are in God’s perfect will. There is a peace we experience that is different from any other peace we have experienced. With this peace comes a confidence that we are doing the work of the Father. This confidence is not arrogant or boastful. We know without reservation that what we are doing has meaning and purpose.
Sometimes, doing God’s will means we don’t get to come down off the cross. Jesus’ death on the cross was a part of God’s will. The nails that pierced His hands and feet were also a part of God’s will. Being in God’s will is not always going to be easy. There are going to be struggles that accompany us as we do His work. Even in the struggles, we are at peace and have confidence in knowing God’s work is at hand.
In quiet times and in times of turmoil, we are at peace because we are steadfast in trusting that God will see His work through to completion. God is at work in us and around us. We trust that the work He is completing in us has a purpose and will bring glory to Him. We have a confidence that comes with knowing God is at work and He has invited us to be a part of His will.
