Power

But Jesus said, “Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.” Luke 8:46

Step Eleven: We sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God. Praying only for the knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.

In step one we learned we were powerless. Apart from Christ, we can do nothing. Our dilemma was a lack of power. And now in the eleventh step, we come to Christ requesting His power. And like the woman who sought out Jesus, we also experience the flow of power from Christ.

The power that comes from Christ is not ours. This power is a gift that is given to us to be used to glorify Christ. When we seek through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, we experience true power, not the power we imagined ourselves to have. The power that comes from Christ is world-shaking and moves mountains.

In prayer and meditation, we reach out, like the woman who sought out Christ and touch the very fabric of divinity. Christ’s power flows from Him to us. The power of the universe is at our fingertips. As Believers, we are given the gift of power and the knowledge of His Will.

Jesus, all power, and glory are Yours. Any power that You give to me is a gift. Help me to use Your power wisely. I can do nothing apart from You. Without You, I am completely powerless. Thank You for allowing me to be a conduit of Your great power. Amen.
