Boundaries

Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. Galatians 6:1

Having boundaries means that we do not have to accept inappropriate behavior. Having boundaries means that we are able to allow others to have their brokenness but without being wrapped up in their brokenness. Having boundaries allows us to be free from the drama of others.

Having boundaries allows us to love others the way the Lord instructed us to love others. We willingly, joyfully and wholeheartedly pray for God’s Blessing on them, with no ulterior motives. We don’t try to fix them or make them into something we think they should be. We step back and out of the way of the Holy Spirit, so that the Holy Spirit can work in their lives.

Having boundaries is being willing to let others go. We let them go so that a Power greater than ourselves can restore us all to sanity.

Crave

Father God, help me to set healthy boundaries for myself. Help me to┬ádiscern when situations and people are not healthy for me. Show me when I need to stay away and out of other people’s drama. Your word says that you will provide a way out of temptation. Help me to follow you and stay always on the road to recovery. Amen.
