The Word Care
Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. She said to herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.” Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” he said,”your faith has healed you.” And the woman was healed at that moment. Matthew 9:20-22
Christ wants to heal us. In the beginning stages of our recovery we learn we are broken, we come to believe that we can be restored and we turn our will and live over to Him. Now we focus on the turning our will and our live over to Christ.
The third step says that we are in God’s care. For some of us, the word care in the third step is a major leap. Yes, we believe that we are broken. We know that there is a God who is powerful and can do what is for us impossible. But, many of us believed God to be far removed from our struggles and daily life. Our belief was that God existed; he just didn’t care about us on an intimate level.
We now come to a point where we learn that God does care. He cares enough to send His son Jesus to be born in poverty, live among us, and die for us. He cares for us deeply. God wants us to be dependent on Him. We turn our will and our live over to Him daily. The life we live is no longer ours. Our life is now in God’s care.

Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. James 4:13-14
Father God, I surrender my life and my will to you. You care about my struggles and watch over me day and night. You knew me before I was born and you know every hair on my head. My life is now yours and the life I live has purpose and meaning. Guide me through this day to accomplish your will.
