Do You Hear Him?
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. Revelation 3:20 NIV

Do you hear Him? He’s been knocking at the doors of our hearts. It started out as a faint tap. But lately, the taps have grown to outright pounding. Christ wants to enter. By the time we have gotten to the second step, the knocking has become deafening.

Will we let Him in? And what happens when we “come to believe”? We’ve gotten really comfortable with the mess and, if we answer the door and allow Him in, shouldn’t we tidy things up a bit? After all, He is the Lord of everything.

Christ doesn’t care about our mess. He wants us to be open about our junk. Christ wants us to unlock the door and then take the door off its hinges. He wants full access to our heart. Once we allow Him roommate status in our hearts, we can begin the process of healing. We clear out the mess, our insanity, and He restores us.

Christ is pounding on the door to our hearts. Do you hear Him? It’s the refusal to allow Him in that compels us to act on our insanity. When we give Him residence into the center of our beings, His beautiful presence will fill us with hope and joy.

Can You Hear Him
Rhythms TV
Jesus, I know you have been pounding at the door of my heart for a long time. I have tried to ignore you and to live my life without you. Your pursuit of me has been relentless. And my running from you has left a trail of wreckage. It’s time to open the door and invite you in. Today I allow you residence in my heart. Today will stop ignoring your request to come in. Today you are in me and I am in you. Amen.
