Even silence is a song to glorify God.
Silence is important in our recovery. We need to set aside a time each day to sit and be with God. God speaks to us when we are able to hear. The noise and distractions of life make it difficult to hear what He is trying to tell us.
We are in a three-way battle that keeps us from hearing what God is trying to tell us: the constant hum of the world, the enemy with distractions and confusion, and our own minds that naturally tend to wander. God, however, is greater than all the things that push to keep us from hearing Him.
Stop and listen to the silent song of praise to God. Know that in silence, God’s voice is clear. We might not hear Him speak in audible words. He may just want us to spend quiet time with Him. It’s in this time we also learn to listen with our hearts. Stay still, be silent and He will teach you wisdom.
