We are those people. You know the ones. We are those people who go to that recovery group each week. We are those people who have a past. We are the people who never seemed to fit in, not even in church. You know who we are. We’re the people who are just like everyone else. The only difference is we are the people who know we are broken and in desperate need of Christ as our Savior.
We are the people who Christ sought out. We are that hundredth sheep that Christ left the ninety nine to go find. We are the ones who came from broken homes and dysfunctional families. We are the people who are just like the ones Christ chose to be His disciples. Our past lives were a mess, but that makes us uniquely qualified to reach a lost and hurting world.
We are those people. You know the ones. We are the people Christ loved so much that He went to the cross to die for us. Even when we were at our worst, Christ loved us. And because of His love for us, we get to be a part of something amazing. We are now a part of a community of believers who at one time felt like outcasts, but now know they belong.
