Wonder

Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel, who alone works wonders. And blessed be His glorious name forever; and may the whole earth be filled with His glory. Amen and Amen. – Psalm 72:18-19

Christ alone works wonders in our lives. There is this beauty in seeing a person walk through the doors of recovery for the first time. The fear of getting out of their car, walking across the parking lot and into the room of miracles is often overwhelming. When they walk through the doorway they are not just greeted with acceptance and support, but also with a new hope.

We have the great honor of witnessing wonder. We get to see the wonder of grace, love, and mercy. We have a front row seat in seeing people come to life. The miracles that happen in recovery occur so often that we start to take miracles for granted. We start to see the miraculous as common occurrences.

Recovery in Christ is filled with wonder. We can not become complacent in recognizing the miracles happening each day in recovery. Each person who walks through the doors of recovery has to be seen as a miracle in process. They have journeyed a lifetime just to walk through those doors. And now, with awe and wonder, we experience Christ at work.

Wonder

Jesus, I am in awe and wonder. You take people who are hurt and struggle with addictions and codependency and change them. You make all things new. We don’t become a better version of who we are. You make us into new creations. Thank You, Jesus, for your grace and mercy. May I always have a front row seat to your power and glory. Amen.
