Wonderfully Made

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Ps.139:14

Springtime! It is nature’s expression of “new life.” As I walked my dogs recently I happened to see these white blooms on a tree. Their whiteness stood out amidst all the greenery. I walked toward it and the closer I got the more vivid their details became. (see picture) God’s creativity amazes me.

Think about how much thought and care God used in making us.

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Ps.139:14

Think for a moment about that word, “wonderfully.” It literally means ‘in a way that inspires delight or admiration; extremely well.’ So, this verse is saying that God’s creating you inspired delight and admiration! You were formed in love! Perfectly made after His image to have an intimate relationship with Him.

No matter your circumstances, God still sees wonderful in you. Regardless of how far you walk away from Him and how many mistakes you see in your past, you are never out of His care. When we are willing to see who we really are with all of our weaknesses, then we will be able to know all the love God has for us. Embrace His love now! Whatever is telling you not to is lying! Whatever fear or anger or guilt or shame there may be is nothing more than the enemy’s voice. Remember, you were AND you are still being wonderfully made.

Father God, Your word tells me that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. You created me to do amazing things. No other of Your creations can do what You have designed Your children to do. I will praise You for all that You have given me. Thank You for be God of all creation. Amen.
