Being a Believer means that we are citizens of the Realm of the Spirit. Our home is no longer this world. While we are still in this world because of our physical nature, we are no longer of this world. We belong to Christ, and our home is no longer here. We are foreigners in this land, seeking out others who might want to become new citizens of Christ’s Kingdom.
There was a reason why many of us never felt like we belonged in this world. Often times, we thought there was something wrong with us because we didn’t feel as though we fit in. Christ-centered recovery teaches us that it’s okay not to be okay. We learned that there is value in not feeling a part of this world. We even learned that it’s okay to long for a place we have never been, and we’ve never seen.
We now belong to the Realm of the Spirit. No longer are we enslaved by the law of sin and death, having been set free to live under grace. God has rescued us from this dark world, and now we belong to Him. Grace has found us, and grace is leading us home.
