Reignite

I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark. John 12:46

Each of us has a God-shaped hole in our heart. We try to fill that God-shaped hole with anything and everything that will stop us from feeling the emptiness of that void. That hole seems bottomless at times. We use people, things, activities, drugs, control, and all kinds of other stuff to take God’s place in filling that void.

That hole is there for a reason. God wants to reside in our hearts. He then wants to ignite a fire that begins in our hearts and then spreads throughout our lives. God wants to reignite the fire that was there when He first created us.

Each of us will have an experience with God that is unique and personal. How God comes to reside in each of our hearts will be different from that of anyone else who has allowed Him entrance. And the fire that God reignites in our hearts will be a light in this dark world.

Written by James Miller

Jesus, reignite my heart for you. Make a flame in me that burns brightly for your glory. Shine your light into every dark corner of my soul and make me Your light to this world. Thank You, Jesus, for saving me from Darkness. Amen
