People in recovery are often very resilient. We have experienced a side of life that most people have never lived through. Not only have we experienced situations that are painful and traumatic, but we are also using the pain of our past to glorify God. In recovery, we discover how our pasts do not define who we are, but instead, they give us an amazing testimony of God’s rescue and restoration of our lives.
We are resilient people. Our resilience comes from having faith in a God who can, at any moment, change the direction of our lives. We’ve come to believe that God is about to do something amazing in our lives. We continue moving forward because none of us want to miss out on what God is about to do. No matter what we are going through, we know that God has something amazing waiting for us.
Resilience comes from the faith of knowing that God is going to give us exactly what we need when we need it. God is giving us everything we need to accomplish His will. Just like Paul in 2 Corinthians 4:8-9, we face adversity knowing that God is in control. No matter what happens, we remain resilient and steadfast in our faith. We cling to God through the storms of life with resilience and a sense of peace that comes with knowing that God has a huge plan for us.
