God is the potter who transforms us from useless clay into utensils designed to be beautiful and purposeful. He labors on His projects with attention to detail and the skill of an artist. God knows what He wants the end result to be. We are being formed and crafted into Magnificent new creations, designed to fulfill His desires.
The process of transformation can be difficult. We have a tendency to want to stay where we are and not go through any changes. Change means going outside of our comfort zones and doing things that are not familiar to us. Our human nature is to resist change, thus opposing God’s modifications to make us into something new.
Complacency kills growth. We have to have a desire for God to transform us before He can begin His work in us. God gives the free will for us to decide whether we want to be a lump of clay or to be transformed into a work of art. That desire to be shaped and formed into something new can only come from within us. The desire to change has to outweigh our fear of change. God is always at work in those who want to be formed into God’s newest masterpiece.
