Some of us know too well what it’s like to be without shelter. We took refuge wherever we could to find a safe place from the cold of winter and the heat of summer. Some of our testimonies speak of our search to find shelter when we had no place to rest. Even those of us who still had a place of our own were finding ourselves in need of shelter from the storms.
God gives us refuge from the storms. His shelter is warm and friendly. In recovery, we find a shelter to share our pain, victory, and experience with one another. Dark storms may threaten our lives but here in the rooms of recovery, we are safe and free.
Christ traveled from town to town, healing and teaching. His blanket was the night sky and His bed was the ground. Christ gives us much more than He allowed Himself to have. Grace is our bed and love is the blanket over us. We now offer this same refuge Christ gives us to others who are coming into the rooms of recovery, looking for shelter.
