We have a new home. Many of us have been drawn to this new home over years of feeling like we didn’t belong in the one in which we were living. Recovery is about changing our residence. We have a new neighborhood, new playgrounds, and new friends.
We can’t take our old baggage into our new home. There’s no need for it now. Our new home is clean and fresh and that old baggage is rotten and dirty. We give all those unnecessary impediments to Christ and He disposes of them for us. Christ is going to clean out for us all those closets filled to the ceiling with junk. There’s no need to take anything with us from our old residence because we have everything we need in our new home.
Welcome home. This is our new life. Recovery in Christ allows us to have a new start and experience what it means to be a new creation. Our entire outlook and attitude are changed. That past baggage that we used to hold onto so tightly is now being recycled for us to use to help others. Christ never wastes a hurt. Now we will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.
