The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

James 5:16

Without prayer, there can be no recovery. Recovery happens because we prayed or because someone prayed for us. Prayer has to be the beginning, middle, and end of everything we do in our recovery. Without prayer, we are left to do our healing under our own power. Prayer allows us to go beyond ourselves and into the realm of God, under which He makes all things possible.

When we pray for someone who struggles, we get to see them come to life with Christ. When we pray for those who are incarcerated, we watch as God makes a way for them out of bondage. When we pray for those who are ill, we see the miracle of Christ’s healing.

Without prayer, there can be no restoration. Our time with God is the center point of our healing. Prayer should always be the first thing we do and not a last resort. Prayer is our time to build up and enjoy a relationship with God. Prayer is personal and powerful. Prayer changes everything. Without prayer, there can be no recovery.

Today’s Prayer

Father God, Thank You for the gift of prayer. It’s in prayer time that I am the closest to You. I long to have time to be with You. My recovery is a prayer to You and You respond to my prayer in abundance. Please be with me as I honor You with the gifts You have given me. Amen.
